Privacy at Bloei.

Overview

This policy explains how Bloei and Saku Studio handle information when you use the Bloei iOS app or visit bloeiapp.com. Saku Studio, based in the Netherlands, is responsible for Bloei.

We collect only what is needed to provide and improve the app, understand how its features are used, manage Premium access, keep the website secure, and handle information you choose to send us. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Data in the app

Bloei stores the details you enter to create your personal plan. These may include your first name, pregnancy stage and dates, diet, dietary restrictions, number of babies, advice region and app language. This information stays on your device or, if you use iCloud sync, in your private iCloud account. It is not included in Bloei's analytics, and we cannot see it. The app also stores your progress, recent food checks, plan preferences and meal ideas you dismiss. Some of this may be health-related information.

This information is stored on your device. When you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is available for Bloei, profile and progress data sync through your private iCloud database. Some preferences also sync through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. Reminder settings and notifications stay on the device where you create them.

Bloei does not send your profile, pregnancy details or complete food history to Saku Studio’s own servers. Limited product interactions are sent to TelemetryDeck as described below. We do not use this information for advertising.

Privacy-friendly app analytics

Bloei uses TelemetryDeck to understand which features are useful and where the app can be improved. The app sends a signal when an onboarding screen is shown, a food guide entry is opened, a nutrition target is logged, or a reminder is enabled. A signal may include the internal identifier and localized name of the food or nutrition target, or the identifier and number of the onboarding step.

We do not send your name, pregnancy stage or dates, diet, dietary restrictions, number of babies, reminder schedule, free-form text, or an unhashed user identifier to TelemetryDeck. The TelemetryDeck SDK also supplies limited technical information about the app and device and uses a device identifier so interactions can be counted. TelemetryDeck hashes that identifier on the device, then salts and hashes it again on its servers.

RevenueCat sends purchase lifecycle events, such as trials, purchases, renewals, cancellations and billing issues, to TelemetryDeck. These events may include the product, price, currency and purchase status. To associate them with app interaction signals, Bloei gives RevenueCat the TelemetryDeck App ID and the same already-hashed device identifier. We use this information only for analytics, not for advertising or tracking you across apps or websites.

Bloei Premium and purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Saku Studio does not receive your card or bank details.

Bloei uses RevenueCat to confirm your subscription or lifetime purchase and unlock Premium features. RevenueCat may process a pseudonymous app identifier, the already-hashed TelemetryDeck device identifier, product and entitlement information, purchase status, and limited technical information needed to provide that service. RevenueCat sends purchase lifecycle events to TelemetryDeck as described above. This information is not used by Bloei for advertising.

Website and optional forms

Bloei does not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and may process basic request information, such as your IP address, browser or device information, requested pages and timestamps, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

If you sign up for Bloei news, we collect the email address you submit. If you use the feedback form, we collect your answers and any email address you choose to add. These forms pass through a Cloudflare Pages function and are stored using Google Forms and Google Sheets. We use this information only to send the updates you requested, review your feedback, or reply to you.

Service providers

We share information only when it is needed to provide Bloei, process a request you make, comply with the law, or protect the service. The providers currently involved are:

These providers may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area. Their policies explain the safeguards and terms that apply to their processing.

Storage, retention and your choices

App data stays on your device and, when iCloud sync is active, in your iCloud account. Removing the app removes its local data. Data that has synced may remain in iCloud until you remove it through your Apple account or iCloud settings.

Apple keeps purchase records under its own retention rules. RevenueCat keeps the information needed to maintain and verify your Premium entitlement. TelemetryDeck keeps analytics signals according to its service settings and retention terms.

News sign-ups and feedback are kept only while they are useful for the purpose described above, or until you ask us to remove them. You can stop receiving Bloei news or request deletion of a submission by emailing us at [email protected]. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, and to receive a portable copy. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to find your submission and confirm that the request is yours. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes to this policy

Bloei will continue to grow, and this policy may change with it. We will publish updates on this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will provide a clearer notice where appropriate.
